Often people will put more effort into defending their beliefs than they will put into testing the validity of those beliefs. Be careful of your mistaken “certainties,” those things you “know”… but haven’t really tested nor compared to reality or real-world evidence.
These can be everything from beliefs about what you’re capable of (“I could never run a marathon,” “I could never be rich”) to your beliefs about business (“To do that kind of business you have to…”).
Be willing to be wrong: for nearly every goal or outcome imaginable there’s a faster, easier and shorter way to success than the way you were thinking of or working to make happen. Be open to learning what you don’t know.
