The Story of Your Life Starting Today
Kia, a friend of mine posted a phrase on a web-site that instantly grabbed my attention. It was so powerful, but so simple I’m sure quite a few people might have missed it. I almost skipped by it myself, but then I locked my eyes on it and my mind began to race.
What was that phrase?
I’ll tell you in a second, but first let me tell you about the importance of having a vision.
All of us have had disappointments in life. All of us have infinitely more potential than we’ve shown thus far in our lives. We have one of the most powerful computers in the world in our head and yet we only use less than 10 percent of our brain. That means there’s 90 percent more power waiting to be unleashed! 90 percent more thoughts and ideas waiting to come crashing down onto the paper in front of us.
Live the Life You’ve Imagined. Many years ago I came across a quote by Thoreau that literally changed my life. I’m reminded of it as I write this because it had the same affect on me as the quote Kia posted. Here it is:
If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. – Henry David Thoreau
Take those dreams of yours and forge them into a vision of what you want your future to be. Don’t put the governor on and edit the vision of yourself. Anything, anything at all can be possible if you will it to be and take MASSIVE ACTION toward realizing your dreams.
Nothing holds you back but you. When are you going to realize that nothing holds you back but you? Nothing is stopping you from becoming the person that’s buried deep inside of you. You don’t have to wait for the New Year to make a resolution. The time is NOW to break free of the shackles that you have placed upon yourself.
Now is the time to speak up and say that you can’t take the way you’re living your life, knowing you could have so much more.
Today is the day you leave the negative behind and step into the realm of the possible, into the realm of the truly successful.
If you get a big enough WHY, you’ll find a way to achieve your goals. If you truly want to change, you’ll be motivated to take action. Do something, anything that moves you closer to your goals.
You have to have powerful reasons and read them everyday and take action.
Up to a point a man’s life is shaped by environment, heredity, and movements and changes in the world about him. Then there comes a time when it lies within his grasp to shape the clay of his life into the sort of thing he wishes to be. Only the weak blame parents, their race, their times, lack of good fortune, or the quirks of fate. Everyone has it within his power to say, “This I am today; that I will be tomorrow.– Louis L’Amour
Stop Being a Victim
You have to stop blaming your parents, stop blaming your boss, stop blaming someone else for where you are today in life. The only reason you are where you are in life is because you chose to be where you are. Okay, maybe you were dealt a bad hand in this game called life.
Complaining about your lot in life isn’t going to change your present circumstances, is it?
Why not change your circumstances and decide that you don’t want to keep living the way you’ve been living thus far in life. If you’ve been given lemons, make lemonade! Stand up and take action, instead of sitting passively in a corner as life passes you by.
Take out those goals that you wrote down for yourself and get leverage on yourself. Realize today what your life will be like if you don’t achieve those very special goals.
Realize today that you have it within you to change everything that pertains to your life at this moment. Stop playing the role of a victim and take responsibility for what you have accomplished or failed to accomplish in the past. Your future success is in your hands and no one else’s. The moment you accept this as the truth, you will take that first step toward creating your future and living the life you’ve imagined.
Resolve to begin again this day and never look back. It’s time to get serious about improving your situation. Stop dreaming and start doing. Tomorrow will not be filled with happiness or luxury or wealth if you do not actively work for it today. Let’s begin that journey today.
And what was that quote that Kia posted? Here it is:
